A :Acronym for disk operating system. The term DOS can refer to any operating system, but it is most often used as a shorthand for MS-DOS (Microsoft disk operating system). Originally developed by Microsoft for IBM, MS-DOS was the standard operating system for IBM-compatible personal computers.
It's not really clear who develop DOS, it'll research on this topic.
In the old days DOS is said to be the chosen “browser”, actually it's really a browser and its not also chosen. Its all you have :) there no other way to see data and manipulate computer, except using DOS
Dos does not really vanish from the masses, its still in use by programmers and computer technicians.
Its in use as a teaching tool for computer science students.
Some computer command can only be access, using DOS.
