Filipinos (they say) have many characteristics;
one of them is the crab mentality.
Definition:
Crab mentality - full down the successful person in front of you and use them as stepping stone to go up.
This behavior is seen to be the natural behavior of live talangka (crab lets) when put on a basket. They practically pull down the crab lets on top of them and step on it to go up to the basket.
Its fun to look on them scrambling to go up and pulling each other down, in the process hardly any crab lets can get out of the basket.
On the crab lets its fun to watch them do the crab mentality, but on people it's not a good sight.
There's a lot of information on this subject, but the history of it is not clear.
One thing is certain; the success of one is not always in the midst of crowd.
A lesson to learn, how can you become successful if there's someone pulling you back?
Think of it:
It's a punch on the chic, a right hook if you will.
Is it really the attitude of the Filipinos?
Come to think of it, it has some truth in it, Consider the Philippines political arena.
Philippines is a small country with a growing population of 76million, and in spite of this small population, there's a number of political parties (don't want to mention names, sorry) and believe it or not, inside a party is division of parties (party division inside the party).
If you think of it closely, the only unity that the Filipinos has is disunity. :(
There's a lesson edsa (1986) give its success in unity.
On the lighter side:
The Filipino and Chinese has united in edsa 1986. True or false?
True, edsa 1986 revolution is headed by Former President Corason Aquino.
She is a teacher, wife of a senator and has Chinese roots.
